Buddy Check!

I stayed after school today. But I wasn't in trouble, so don't worry.

One of the Pre-K Teachers and I were brainstorming about identifying the challenge that exists in her classroom and how to work a solution as we are 14 days into a school year and have run through the entire bag of tricks this incredibly awesome teacher has always used successfully in the past. We pondered about whether or not we agreed it was the previously decided upon issue of Self Control or was it perhaps something else.

I declared it was MAYHEM! We laughed and agreed. The kids know what self-control is and we have a gesture that oddly enough resembles the NFL call for Facemask to bring an individual's attention to it when the need arises.

We will try a new idea borrowed from scouting when we are at the lake and have buddy checks for safe swimming. They can learn to help each other out and develop self control at the same time. Yay!

Some times I think maybe I should have a GOOD BUDDY for my behavior!

Kay, I think you may need to reconsider Harvey's placement all these years . . .
I think it's a great idea.
