Indie is driving to Florida to visit a friend. I am praying that the buggy makes this trip without any problems and am not enjoying this phase of letting go at all. My daughter on the road alone is not doing my nerves any good. I know Indie and Jordan will have a wonderful time together though, and then I will just have to worry about the trip home. Maybe not quite as much if the first went well?
Taryn has caught...well, two things if you are a follower of facebook. She has a boyfriend! I just have to laugh - she is quite the cutie and really who can resist someone who pulls nerds out of their rooms to play?! He seems like a good guy. He wins brownie points because he made her go to Student Health this morning before her chemistry test to get checked since she is sick. I wanted her to get a strep test before the long weekend if it seemed like she might have it. Or even if it didn't just to rule it out! Since she doesn't have a car, once all her friends go home for the holiday, and the campus is closed, her options are greatly reduced. So she reports she has the nasty upper respiratory virus that is going around campus. I think they gave her some stuff, but she is also going to try to get a ride to Walmart today and stock up on airborne, zicam and cough syrup. I hope she feels better soon. I checked online and Zicam has a new line of cold products. I am going to have to stock us all up.
Gib finally came home with the required form to get his learner's permit! Now all he has to do is study for the learner's permit test! Ahem!!! He is down to just one sister to annoy. Poor Gib. Such slim pickings. The other night he put Mariah to bed. It started with wrestling behind me in the computer room. I sent them upstairs, so he goes, "Yeah, Time for Bed Mariah!" and then there was chasing, thumping, shrieking, doors slamming, and the constant refrain "time for bed! time for bed!" followed by "let me out! let me out!" and a cheerful "Good night Mariah!". I imagine Gib successfully manhandled Mariah into her room while I smiled and pretended to be unaware of her manhandling. Once she was free she demanded restitution and I told her to go to bed. Gib was triumphant! Mike and I commented that Mariah was now the sole recipient of brotherly love. I secretly thought to myself that at least she didn't have to endure the Chesty Dance yet.
Mariah is going to the 7th grade dance tonight. She is getting ready for it at a friend's house. But first we are going to the Dr's because her stomach is still giving her alot of problems since the surgery. They said it would take time but pretty much anything she does or eats gives her a stomach ache. That's a hard way to live. We've done 2 months of Culturelle to put enzymes back into her gut, but since it hasn't done the trick, we are following up. After her appointment I am driving her to her friend's house and then I have to work the closing shift at CWC.
I also have had a slight cold this week that has been very annoying. It was the start of preschool and as far as Pre-K is concerned, I've never seen a better beginning! Those kids were so well behaved both in the classroom and walking to and from places it seemed more like mid-year and not first week. I was impressed.
Mike has some Honey-Do's from Grammy to take care of this weekend, and there are probably a few left over Honey-Do's from my list that would be nice to finish. Football season is about to begin. Mike has been watching the preseason games, but I prefer to wait for the real season. Mike finished painting the garage with the special stuff to make the cement blocks waterproof. It took waaaay more paint than I thought it would to cover it all. The cement blocks are all gray now though and I like it alot. We meet with our contractor, Skeeter, (love that) next week to go over some more detailed plans for the deck removal/regrading; followed by a new patio, grill area, arbor, and window for mom.
We are all set on our Fantasy Football league team. Mike, Gib, Mariah, Me, Margo, and some friends & coworkers of Mike's are in it. Mike is the Commissioner of our League. We like having an IN with the big guy. Me and Margo didn't even study up this year - we just nabbed the best RB and QB we could in picks 1 and 2 and then winged it from there. She got Drew Brees in pick 1, I got Peyton Manning with my 2nd pick. We're happy. I know Mariah got Tony Romo because she had him last year and liked how he did for her team. I didn't pay attention to the QB's everyone else got. For the first time ever, I don't have Brett Farve. That's kind of sad. Maybe I will do a football blog next time! Ooooh, who's excited?!?!

oh you nerds, you have to be so exacting!
first off, you're technically right. of course you are. I checked. At 12:19 a.m. you texted me. I WAS asleep. You mentioned a math test. I mentioned going into the clinic. Then you mentioned a chem class at 9 a.m. You did not technically say a test, I in my befuddled sleep deprived, not quite as sick as you, but still sick, thought you had two tests! Several texts later, I decided you weren't going to say anything more and I was falling asleep waiting for your reply. So there missy!!!
second: I am very sorry you are so sick. Virus' suck big time and that is all there is to it. I hope you got the Zicam!
third: I knew Tim would like that! Tell him thanks. Now he needs to make sure you aren't staying up past midnight anymore. ahem.
