Gib is going backpacking on a 20 miler this weekend. As you can see, he's not quite awake yet as the 5:15 am departure only required getting dressed and eating breakfast and we all know that for a guy that's a minimal 10% brain power at best.I had to reach UP to put the sunscreen on his face. He just had to point out that in his hiking boots, he was taller than I this morning. I think the smirk was from remembering that statement just before this photo was taken. Getting photographed didn't wipe it off his face either.
This is the last big hike before Philmont and I think with this one, and a smaller hike next weekend, he completes the Hiking Merit badge. Way to go Gibbie!!

ha I remember mornings like that. I had basketball practice at 5 am every mornign one year. My mom LOVED it.
How tall is Gib these days? For a while there everytime I saw Connor he would point out he is taller then me. Not an AMAZING feat since I am a mere 5'2"... But exciting enough to a teenage boy.
Con is exactly like that too! I had on heels the other day an he pointed out that he is taller than me with them on... goofy kids! ;)
